Hello!

I’m a freelance journalist and photographer with plenty of communications experience.

Sanderella Media (that’s me) offers services in all forms of media: social (online), visual (video, photo), and news (news releases, articles).

I’ve managed media for Prairie State Conservation Coalition (2015 to present), a coalition of land trusts across the state, including setting up Eventbrite tickets for the annual conference, Mailchimp mailings to members, photos and videos, and PSCC’s Hike App featuring nature experiences for those outdoor explorers.

A few other clients have utilized my services, including The Conservation Foundation (2014-2019)

Working at a zoo is quite the unique experience from being greeted by wandering  peacocks on the way into work to getting spat on by a llama.

Quality Writing and photography

With a few decades under my belt, you can expect quality in whatever the task.

I’ve been taking photos since I was a kid and have a keen eye for capturing moments that tell a story. As a photojournalism student at Roosevelt University in Chicago, I honed my craft in the darkroom (remember those?) by shooting events in and around the city.

More recently, I’ve focused on special events for social media and marketing materials resulting in memorable photos to showcase any occasion.

I can shoot anything! Portraits, special events, landscapes, real estate. Don’t forget videos to put a spark in your social media posts!

My B.A. in Journalism led to a broadcasting career working as a radio news anchor in the suburbs and the top news stations in Chicago. I’ve worked as an editor and reporter for AOL’s Patch online news, and as a freelance reporter at numerous metro and Chicago news publications.

My passion for the environment led to providing my skills in photography, video, writing, and graphic and web design to several environmental organizations to further their mission of conservation.

I can do the same for your message aimed at the audiences you want to reach.
